What's with all the Websites?

You may or may not know that RJ Stroman, proprietor of our own 2Sand.com runs a number of sanding supply websites, and during a recent conversation I asked him why that is. Here is what he had to say:

"There are many reasons that I maintain different websites that carry similar products. First, and probably most importantly, the customers drive the differences in the various sites. While the product mix overlaps quite a bit between sites, the site are tailored to different customers. 2Sand.com is geared toward woodworkers, while BuySandpaper.com is aimed at metal workers, so while much of the inventory is the same, there are differences. My other website, 80Grit.com is very much like 2Sand.com but is a bit experimental since it has advanced search options and some other bells and whistles that I am trying out."

"For example, 2Sand.com has a number of items specifically for wood turning that you won't find on BuySandpaper.com. And BuySandpaper.com has wet sheets and no-load products that woodworkers are generally not looking for. And if you are not sure what to buy, 80Grit.com has some different search capabilities to help you narrow down your choices. Of course, if you need personal help, we do offer live help at 2Sand.com and all of the sites have contact information so you can email or call us."
