Sanding sponges available for purchase at 2sand.com

At 2Sand.com, we know all too well that there is no single tool or product that will fit all of your sanding needs. That is why we strive to offer as wide an array of abrasive supplies as we can. Sanding Sponges are an excellent tool for any shop, large or small, yet they are sometimes dismissed as a DIY product not fit for the professional shop. Truth be told, they can be one of the most versatile tools you use.

Our Sanding Sponges are rectangular foam blocks coated on four faces with abrasive. They feature sharp 90 degree corners for precise sanding of rabbets and recesses and the 4” x 3” x 1” blocks provide a comfortable grip during use. They can be used for wet sanding as well as dry, making them doubly useful.

The Aluminum Oxide abrasive used on the sanding sponges is available in 60, 100, and 150 grits, but these are not directly comparable to standard sandpaper grit standards. Think of them more as Course (60), Medium (100) and Fine (150). The 60 grit works well for shaping and initial sanding of rough surfaces, the 100 for removing small blemishes, and the 150 for finish sanding. The 100 also works very well for quickly cleaning up parts after CNC milling.

The foam block core allows the flexible abrasive faces to easily conform to the shape of the parts being sanded while it is still firm enough to work inside pockets and other hard to reach areas. Economically priced, our Sanding Sponges travel well in tool bags and boxes for use on the jobsite. Order a selection for your shop today and see how often you find yourself reaching for them.
