sander pad protector tips interface pads
02 08 2018
Our last blog was an introduction to pad protectors. Now that you have a sense of what pad protectors are and why they're important, we are going to give you some tips about when to use a pad protector versus some other sanding accessories. As previously mentioned in our
other blog, pad protectors are great for protecting the hooks on your sander's back up pad, and protectors with holes matching your sander are more effective for dust collection to prevent loading.
Interface Pads
When doing contour sanding and working those curves is more important than dust collection, you may want to consider interface pads. These sanding accessories make life easier by providing some give on the sanding disc, allowing it shape to the curves. Our interface pads are 3/4" thick and are available in a variety of diameters.
You can even punch vacuum holes to make the pad fit your sander if you want, since they're foam. Because of their location between the disc and the back up, they inherently protect the hooks as well. Hope you found this blog helpful and keep an eye out for our next blog, which will feature more about pad protectors, along with some information about mandrels/holders.
